Problem
According to the CDC, only one out of ten adults meet their fruit and vegetable intake every day. Although children have increased their fruit consumption in recent years, their vegetable intake still leaves much to be desired. Fruit leather is a fun and healthy snack that provides
vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are essential to a healthy lifestyle.
Purpose
The purpose of this fruit leather is to help people meet their fruit and vegetable needs in a fun way, while also encouraging a sustainable lifestyle. The best part about these recipes is that each one contains a vegetable ingredient.
There are four different recipes:
Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
The ingredients can be obtained at local farmer's markets or CSA's. These recipes leave no waste. Even the parchment packaging can be composted.
Sustainable twist on a healthy snack.
