AMAZING

ACRES

GOAT DAIRY

Amazing Acres is a small, local goat dairy farm located in Elverson, PA.They believe by allowing the goats to get plenty of daily exercise, fresh air, love, brushings and treats, they are able to produce healthier and happier goats. Even though it reduces their cheese-making milk supply, they allow the kids to remain with their mothers for at least three months to ensure the goats are developing properly. Instead of using rennet derived from animal sources, they use a microbial-produced rennet that allows their cheese to be enjoyed by vegetarians as well. Amazing Acres’ award-winning artisanal products are mostly sold at area farmers markets and to local restaurants but may be purchased at the farm.

"I am a lover of all things cheese, so it is important to me to support businesses like theirs instead of supporting industrial dairy production. My personal favorites are the Dill and Apricot Goat Cheeses!"

LOBO MAU

Although the world is turning towards sustainable food systems as a way to save mother earth, aspirations are still needed with regards to fashion and clothing Industry. A brother sister team of Jordan and Nicole Haddad are doing just that right here in the city of Brotherly love. Their unisex clothing line is both sustainable and trendy in a slow fashion way. Since they design and make everything local, their carbon imprint compared other clothing companies that import from overseas, is less than negligible. The Cotton used is organic, and they are against mass production, so the clothes are made in small batches.

"I bought a pair of pants from them last year. I like that their clothing is gender neutral, cute, comfy and environment friendly. There is less chance of you running into someone down the street wearing the same pair."

Golden Valley Coffee Roasters

Golden Valley Farms is a sustainable coffee company, with the goal of sourcing coffee responsibly. Their coffee is certified USDA Organic, Shade-Grown, Fair Trade, and Bird-Friendly; encompassing all 3 pillars of sustainability. Using an artisan roast method gives the coffee a smooth, full-body taste.

"I have worked for Golden Valley this year and it has shown me the significance of buying local. Sustainable food systems start with knowing who you buy your everyday essentials from, which is coffee for me. Every time I prepare my french press for cold brew, I'm confident knowing it's chemical-free, financially supporting people I know and trust, and giving farmers a high quality of life (which everyone deserves)."
